Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.01%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.01%, while the MDAX index lost 0.19%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.22%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG), which rose 1.91% or 1.75 points to trade at 93.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) added 1.87% or 2.00 points to end at 109.00 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was up 1.20% or 1.28 points to 108.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which fell 2.05% or 0.72 points to trade at 34.39 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 1.32% or 5.50 points to end at 410.30 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was down 1.29% or 2.50 points to 191.05.

The top performers on the MDAX were Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which rose 4.88% to 113.90, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which was up 2.50% to settle at 10.47 and Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) which gained 1.75% to close at 34.92.

The worst performers were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which was down 5.81% to 214.00 in late trade, Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which lost 2.90% to settle at 602.00 and CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 2.21% to 64.30 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which rose 3.27% to 42.92, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 2.24% to settle at 77.60 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which gained 2.17% to close at 27.82.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.72% to 17.99 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 1.68% to settle at 12.88 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 1.57% to 125.40 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 361 to 322 and 76 ended unchanged.

Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 3-years highs; rising 2.50% or 0.26 to 10.47.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.11% to 18.57.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.38% or 7.40 to $1,930.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.35% or 1.05 to hit $78.95 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 0.97 to trade at $85.47 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 101.89.
