France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.01%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.01%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.02%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA), which rose 2.64% or 0.37 points to trade at 14.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 2.50% or 0.67 points to end at 27.28 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was up 2.04% or 3.80 points to 189.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 1.92% or 0.56 points to trade at 28.36 at the close. Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) declined 1.63% or 0.45 points to end at 27.20 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was down 1.61% or 0.93 points to 56.98.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were SEB SA (EPA:SEBF) which rose 7.94% to 95.85, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 7.07% to settle at 14.77 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which gained 4.97% to close at 3.17.

The worst performers were Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which was down 4.13% to 14.63 in late trade, La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (EPA:FDJ) which lost 3.70% to settle at 39.25 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 2.76% to 11.28 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 282 to 251 and 95 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.33% or 6.40 to $1,929.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.26% or 0.98 to hit $78.88 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.88 to trade at $85.38 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.43% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.92.
