France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.04%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.04% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.01%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.65% or 7.90 points to trade at 224.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) added 2.80% or 3.88 points to end at 142.28 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was up 2.36% or 4.00 points to 173.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 1.19% or 0.62 points to trade at 51.50 at the close. Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) declined 1.09% or 0.27 points to end at 24.50 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 0.36% or 0.24 points to 66.26.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which rose 3.65% to 224.50, Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which was up 3.64% to settle at 22.80 and Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which gained 3.29% to close at 12.24.

The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 4.44% to 10.45 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which lost 2.04% to settle at 7.40 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 1.99% to 7.88 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 281 to 257 and 84 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.55% or 9.75 to $1,753.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.29% or 2.69 to hit $78.95 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.16% or 2.84 to trade at $86.94 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 106.79.
