“What are the 7 Cs of crypto? Concealed. Corrupt. Crooks. Criminals. Conmen. Carnival barkers. And finally, CZ.”

That’s famed economist Nouriel Roubini, long-time opponent of cryptocurrencies, at Abu Dhabi Finance Week, attacking Binance Founder and CEO Changpeng Zhou, just after the cryptocurrency executive known as CZ left the stage.

Roubini said he couldn’t believe that Binance has a license to operate in the United Arab Emirates. Binance on Tuesday received a custody license and fund management license in Abu Dhabi. Binance is banned in the U.K. and under investigation in the U.S. over money laundering, Roubini noted.

Roubini called Kevin O’Leary, a “paid hack for FTX” that he hoped CNBC would get rid of. Mr. Wonderful, as O’Leary is known, participates on the CNBC program Shark Tank and was both an investor and paid spokesman for FTX.

FTX last week filed for bankruptcy.

Earlier, Zhou had continued to make the case for more transparency in the industry.
