Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.00%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.00%, while the MDAX index declined 2.18%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.57%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which rose 2.91% or 4.80 points to trade at 169.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) added 2.50% or 2.47 points to end at 101.15 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG) was up 1.05% or 2.10 points to 202.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which fell 6.20% or 4.04 points to trade at 61.15 at the close. Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) declined 5.56% or 3.36 points to end at 57.06 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 5.41% or 1.83 points to 31.97.

The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which rose 1.92% to 69.00, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was up 0.43% to settle at 2.34 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which gained 0.40% to close at 34.98.

The worst performers were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 6.90% to 29.82 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 6.28% to settle at 17.02 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 5.97% to 6.93 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 2.29% to 22.30, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 1.48% to settle at 11.63 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which gained 0.43% to close at 2.34.

The worst performers were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 6.90% to 29.82 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 6.28% to settle at 17.02 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 6.26% to 35.94 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 491 to 181 and 83 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.15% to 22.62.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.60 to $1,777.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.08% or 1.81 to hit $85.11 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.54% or 1.45 to trade at $92.41 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 106.29.
