Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.62%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.62% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.27%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.98%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 7.77% or 2.27 points to trade at 31.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 4.42% or 7.75 points to end at 183.10 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was up 3.96% or 1.31 points to 34.41 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which fell 2.79% or 3.78 points to trade at 131.86 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 2.16% or 0.86 points to end at 38.92 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was down 1.58% or 1.08 points to 67.36.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which rose 6.72% to 176.20, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was up 4.90% to settle at 22.25 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 4.68% to close at 21.02.

The worst performers were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 4.07% to 32.49 in late trade, Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which lost 2.97% to settle at 94.70 and Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 1.41% to 41.86 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 7.77% to 31.50, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 4.68% to settle at 21.02 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 2.58% to close at 77.40.

The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 29.21% to 14.80 in late trade, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which lost 4.07% to settle at 32.49 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 2.80% to 10.40 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 429 to 248 and 80 ended unchanged.

Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) fell to 5-year lows; down 29.21% or 6.11 to 14.80.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.30% to 21.67 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.26% or 4.65 to $1,774.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.20% or 2.85 to hit $86.11 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.70% or 2.59 to trade at $93.40 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 106.66.
