Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 3.51%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 3.51% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index climbed 4.08%, and the TecDAX index gained 4.28%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 13.75% or 3.56 points to trade at 29.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 8.15% or 1.05 points to end at 14.00 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was up 7.95% or 29.50 points to 400.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn), which fell 1.53% or 0.30 points to trade at 19.41 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) declined 0.39% or 0.70 points to end at 179.90 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) was down 0.14% or 0.16 points to 113.12.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 18.64% to 41.31, Knorr-Bremse AG (ETR:KBX) which was up 11.88% to settle at 53.70 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which gained 10.13% to close at 24.78.

The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 5.48% to 64.50 in late trade, Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which lost 0.89% to settle at 94.65 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 0.57% to 20.93 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 7.95% to 400.40, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was up 7.83% to settle at 19.00 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 7.17% to close at 28.40.

The worst performers were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 1.53% to 19.41 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which lost 0.57% to settle at 20.93 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which was down 0.37% to 32.18 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 518 to 172 and 63 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.12% to 21.87 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.35% or 40.25 to $1,753.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.12% or 0.96 to hit $86.79 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.31% or 1.21 to trade at $93.86 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.50% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP fell 1.17% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.97% at 108.29.
