Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.95%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.95%, while the MDAX index lost 2.12%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.39%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 8.13% or 1.86 points to trade at 24.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (ETR:LINI) added 0.76% or 2.30 points to end at 303.60 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was up 0.44% or 1.20 points to 271.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG), which fell 4.66% or 3.74 points to trade at 76.50 at the close. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) declined 4.25% or 4.35 points to end at 98.00 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was down 3.70% or 1.90 points to 49.50.

The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which rose 4.08% to 60.00, Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which was up 1.51% to settle at 28.20 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 0.84% to close at 25.17.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 10.36% to 4.53 in late trade, Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which lost 8.23% to settle at 518.50 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE) which was down 7.35% to 75.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which rose 5.18% to 33.28, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 3.67% to settle at 9.55 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 3.64% to close at 24.20.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 6.98% to 10.26 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 6.87% to settle at 18.24 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 3.55% to 45.87 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 465 to 210 and 78 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.46% to 24.29 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.12% or 18.50 to $1,631.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.01% or 1.81 to hit $88.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 1.45 to trade at $94.71 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 0.97, while EUR/GBP rose 1.29% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.45% at 112.84.
