Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.94%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.94% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index gained 2.43%, and the TecDAX index gained 3.09%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 6.63% or 1.50 points to trade at 24.12 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 6.47% or 5.91 points to end at 97.25 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was up 4.84% or 2.16 points to 46.82 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which fell 3.73% or 1.33 points to trade at 34.37 at the close. Linde PLC (ETR:LINI) declined 3.45% or 10.25 points to end at 286.65 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was down 3.20% or 3.32 points to 100.50.

The top performers on the MDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 12.31% to 21.90, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 6.51% to settle at 52.02 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 6.23% to close at 36.17.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 2.18% to 5.29 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 1.51% to settle at 21.51 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 1.45% to 115.70 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 12.31% to 21.90, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was up 8.47% to settle at 23.04 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 6.51% to close at 52.02.

The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was down 0.19% to 46.41 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which unchanged 0.02% to settle at 8.63 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was up 0.78% to 103.60 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 463 to 217 and 72 ended unchanged.

Shares in Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.20% or 3.32 to 100.50.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.13% to 27.60.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 3.25 to $1,657.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.50% or 0.42 to hit $85.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.37 to trade at $91.58 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.81% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP fell 0.85% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.90% at 110.90.
