Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.04%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Bank Of Queensland Ltd. (ASX:BOQ), which rose 11.13% or 0.76 points to trade at 7.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Zip Co Ltd (ASX:ZIP) added 5.79% or 0.04 points to end at 0.64 and Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX:PBH) was up 4.57% or 0.09 points to 2.06 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Codan Ltd (ASX:CDA), which fell 4.10% or 0.22 points to trade at 5.14 at the close. Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV) declined 3.98% or 0.07 points to end at 1.69 and Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX:MIN) was down 3.65% or 2.66 points to 70.12.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 766 to 481 and 369 ended unchanged.

Shares in Codan Ltd (ASX:CDA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.10% or 0.22 to 5.14.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 1.54% to 19.36.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.61% or 10.25 to $1,675.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.21% or 0.19 to hit $89.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $94.31 a barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 0.63, while AUD/JPY rose 0.13% to 91.57.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 113.19.
