France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.17%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.17%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.20%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 4.91% or 1.43 points to trade at 30.68 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 2.59% or 1.33 points to end at 52.60 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 2.00% or 0.85 points to 43.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which fell 6.53% or 2.40 points to trade at 34.45 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) declined 5.30% or 1.88 points to end at 33.66 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was down 4.20% or 3.00 points to 68.50.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which rose 9.36% to 11.10, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which was up 4.91% to settle at 30.68 and CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which gained 3.73% to close at 0.83.

The worst performers were Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was down 6.62% to 18.75 in late trade, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which lost 6.53% to settle at 34.45 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 6.22% to 2.08 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 343 to 197 and 91 ended unchanged.

Shares in Nexity (EPA:NEXI) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.62% or 1.33 to 18.75.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.79% or 13.55 to $1,707.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.49% or 3.97 to hit $92.42 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 4.01% or 3.79 to trade at $98.21 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 112.46.
