France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.33%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.33%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.31%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 3.36% or 2.24 points to trade at 68.98 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) added 2.78% or 0.66 points to end at 24.38 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 2.67% or 1.16 points to 44.64 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which fell 2.38% or 0.21 points to trade at 8.54 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 2.22% or 2.70 points to end at 118.70 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was down 1.38% or 0.71 points to 50.60.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which rose 4.22% to 40.96, Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was up 3.91% to settle at 140.95 and Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which gained 3.55% to close at 9.91.

The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 15.14% to 8.80 in late trade, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which lost 4.28% to settle at 13.54 and Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which was down 3.63% to 17.27 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 289 to 247 and 92 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.38% or 0.21 to 8.54. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; losing 15.14% or 1.57 to 8.80.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.63% or 10.80 to $1,717.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.98% or 1.62 to hit $83.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.20% or 1.06 to trade at $89.06 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 109.89.
