President Joe Biden on Wednesday emphasized that the country is turning the page on the COVID-19 pandemic, as his administration took the wraps off a website that aims to help Americans deal with the pandemic.
“Because of the strategy we executed over the past year on vaccinations, testing, treatments and more, we’re now in a new moment in this pandemic,” he said during a brief speech. “That does not mean that COVID-19 is over. It means that COVID-19 no longer controls our lives.”
“Cases are ticking up, as we thought they might, but now thanks to the foundation we’ve laid, America has the tools to protect people,” Biden added.
The new website — COVID.gov — is a “one-stop shop where anyone in America can find what they need to navigate the virus,” the president said. “Free vaccines and boosters, free at-home test, high-quality masks and … the latest information about the level of COVID-19 spread in your community.”

Biden on Wednesday also reiterated his administration’s call for Congress to provide more funding for COVID programs.
Following his speech, the 79-year-old president received a second booster shot for Pfizer’s
PFE,
COVID vaccine, with that jab coming a day after the Food and Drug Administration authorized second booster doses for people aged 50 and older.
