Meanwhile, Tokyu Fudosan (T:3289) added 4.40% or 27.0 points to end at 640.0 and Recruit Holdings Co Ltd (T:6098) was up 3.69% or 247.0 points to 6947.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eisai Co., Ltd. (T:4523), which fell 9.06% or 645.0 points to trade at 6477.0 at the close. Hitachi Ltd (T:6501) declined 3.15% or 197.0 points to end at 6049.0 and Konami Corp. (T:9766) was down 1.73% or 100.0 points to 5680.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2217 to 1313 and 269 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 21.01.
