Netflix Inc. will slow the content spigot a bit in January, giving viewers a chance to catch up on recent releases — but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing notable on the way.
After nearly two years off, the popular crime drama “Ozark” (Jan. 21) returns for seven episodes in the first half of its fourth and final season (the seven-episode Part 2 will stream later this year). Now firmly entrenched with the cartel, will the Byrd family (Jason Bateman and Laura Linney) finally lean into being outright bad guys?
There’s also the third and final season of Ricky Gervais’ bittersweet comedy “After Life” (Jan. 14); “Archive 81” (Jan. 14), a supernatural horror series from producer James Wan (“The Conjuring”); Season 3 of the stay-celibate-or-you-lose dating show “Too Hot to Handle” (Jan. 19); “Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness” (Jan. 28), an educational series from the “Queer Eye” co-star, who delves into topics he’s interested in learning more about; and “The Woman in the House Across the Street From the Girl in the Window” (Jan. 28), a new series that’s a spoof of domestic thrillers, starring Kristen Bell.

On the movie front, Netflix
NFLX,
has originals such as “Munich: The Edge of War” (Jan. 21), a pre-WWII thriller about behind-the-scenes intrigue at the infamous 1938 conference between Adolf Hitler and British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain (played by Jeremy Irons); and “Home Team” (Jan. 28), starring Kevin James as a disgraced NFL coach who takes over a sixth-grade football team, based on the true story of the Saints’ Sean Payton; as well as older films such as “Braveheart,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “Interview with the Vampire,” “Taxi Driver” and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (all Jan. 1).
It’s also your last chance to watch all five seasons of Matt LeBlanc’s “Episodes” and the entire “Twilight” saga, which are leaving Netflix next month.
