Australia stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 down 0.15%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.15%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV), which rose 3.52% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.470 at the close. Meanwhile, Lend Lease Group (ASX:LLC) added 3.23% or 0.340 points to end at 10.880 and Beach Energy Ltd (ASX:BPT) was up 2.40% or 0.030 points to 1.280 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Technology One Ltd (ASX:TNE), which fell 8.61% or 1.08 points to trade at 11.47 at the close. Netwealth Group Ltd (ASX:NWL) declined 5.56% or 0.93 points to end at 15.81 and Hub24 Ltd (ASX:HUB) was down 5.09% or 1.49 points to 27.76.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 892 to 534 and 376 ended unchanged.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 2.58% to 12.227.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 9.00 to $1792.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.25% or 0.20 to hit $78.70 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.13 to trade at $82.44 a barrel.

AUD/USD was down 0.19% to 0.7214, while AUD/JPY fell 0.35% to 82.90.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 96.523.
