Penn Badgley, star of the Netflix thriller series “You,” has picked up a pretty Park Slope apartment, the website Dirt reported. The actor and his wife, Domino Kirke, paid $100,000 over the asking price.
The “rarely available” three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit came on the market in July for $1.725 million.
Located in the upscale Brooklyn neighborhood, the perfectly placed property is adjacent to the verdant Prospect Park, as well as to shopping and dining options on Seventh Avenue.
The two have ties to the area: Badgley fronts the Brooklyn-based band Mothxr, and Kirke co-founded a local doula service. Now, they have a cool pad for whenever they’re in town.
Art deco abode
Located on the fifth floor, the corner apartment, accessed by attended elevator, comes with seven windows with treetop views. Entering from the foyer, an arched opening flows into the living and dining room. The space includes original, arched built-ins.
The old-school galley kitchen has been modernized. The light-filled space comes with quartzite stone counters and GE appliances.
For the master bedroom, find two generous closets and an ensuite bathroom, also recently refreshed.
The second bedroom with built-ins is currently in use as an office and guest room. The third bedroom can also be used as a flexible space.
Other features include “meticulously maintained” parquet floors and fresh paint.
Built in 1931 and known familiarly as “The Art Deco Building,” the 94-unit co-op offers a laundry room, storage, two outdoor courtyards, and an art deco lobby. Pets are allowed, and the $2,364 monthly association fee includes electricity.
Luxe loft
Previously, the couple, who married in Brooklyn in 2017, owned a swanky Williamsburg loft. They sold that place in 2019, for $2.19 million. Before letting it go, they had offered the three-bedroom unit for rent at a cool $8,500 a month.
The 2,000-square-foot floor plan in the historic Mill Building included a space resembling a gallery, planked hardwood floors, exposed beams, oversized windows, and 13-foot ceilings.
Badgley, 35, is probably best known for his role in the original “Gossip Girl” series, playing the part of the Brooklyn native Dan Humphrey. He is currently starring in “You,” which has been renewed by Netflix for its fourth season.
