Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Nene Leakes is letting go of her Duluth, GA, home. The country club property, which she dubbed “Casa Leakes,” is available for $4 million.
The reality TV legend is parting with her place after the death of her husband, Greg Leakes, from colon cancer in September, at the age of 66.
She purchased the mansion, which backs right up to the TPC Sugarloaf golf course, for $2,075,000 in 2015.
After she bought the place brand-new, she added a number of her own touches. She renovated the nearly 10,000-square-foot mansion, added a pool, and tacked on a massive walk-in closet, according to Us Weekly.
Fans of the show may recognize the mansion’s interiors, which served as an occasional backdrop in the drama that swirls around Atlanta.
In 2019, the cast member posted a photo of herself at her kitchen island, set with formal tableware, tiered desert trays, roses, and bottles of bubbly.
“Tune into #RHOA TONIGHT at 8pm on @bravotv I have a few special guest stopping by Casa Leakes tonight,” she posted.
Inside, the Mediterranean-style mansion includes five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms.
A gourmet kitchen features 10-foot-high cabinetry, Viking appliances, marble countertops, and an oversized island. If that doesn’t leave you enough space to cook up a meal, the home is outfitted with a full second chef’s kitchen.
Designer chandeliers can be found throughout the home—including the kitchen—and add glitz to the interior spaces. Adjoining the kitchen is a breakfast area and a family room.
The main level includes a two-story great room, a formal dining area with two dramatic light fixtures, and a living room with a fireplace. An open staircase with wrought-iron railing curves up to the second floor.
Tile flooring, walls of glass, and white furnishings fill the rooms.
The owner’s suite comes with an en suite bathroom and a free-standing tub and double vanity. The main attraction, though, is the custom-designed closet, with glass door built-ins, jewelry cases, shoe racks, and mirrors.
Downstairs, a finished basement is ready for entertaining, with a bar, game room, custom wall seating, wine storage, and a home theater. There’s also an on-site beauty salon, which can be converted back into a guest bedroom, the listing notes.
Outside, the resort-style setting features a pool, waterfall features, and wraparound, covered patio for lounging and dining. Dramatic outdoor lighting adds an extra dose of curb appeal. As a part of the Sugarloaf Country Club community, a buyer can expect to spend $229 a month in HOA fees.
Leakes is an original cast member of the “Atlanta” edition of “Housewives.” She has also competed on “Dancing with the Stars” and “Celebrity Apprentice.” After branching out into acting, she became a recurring character on “Glee,” and the NBC sitcom “The New Normal.” She has also had a clothing line on the Home Shopping Network, and recently opened a club in Duluth called The Linnethia Lounge.
Elaine Richardson with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.
