This is one Whopper of a list.
Burger King is permanently banning 120 artificial flavors, colors and preservatives from its food menus nationwide, including aluminum, bleached flour, sorbic acid, Yellow #5 food dye and dozens of other mouthwatering additives that are harder to pronounce.
The Restaurant Brands International-owned
QSR,
fast food chain explained in a press release on Thursday that the purge is part of its commitment to deliver on “the promise of real food.”
“We know our guests’ expectations are changing, and they want to make choices they can feel good about,” Burger King North America’s chief marketing officer Ellie Doty said in a statement. “By banning these 120 ingredients from our food, we’re offering guests an easy choice — delicious food made with quality ingredients. We’re confident that our ongoing commitment to real food will not only provide guests with the food they’re looking for, but also set a standard for the industry overall.”
And Burger King is doubling-down on this real-food premise with a series of “Keep It Real Meals” endorsed by celebrities including rappy Nelly and singers Anitta and LilHuddy.
