France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.39%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.39%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX), which rose 1.62% or 2.10 points to trade at 131.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) added 1.44% or 0.58 points to end at 40.78 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was up 1.10% or 0.31 points to 28.41 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Faurecia (PA:EPED), which fell 3.91% or 1.85 points to trade at 45.44 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.37% or 0.76 points to end at 21.77 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was down 3.37% or 1.29 points to 36.99.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which rose 4.83% to 10.85, SES (PA:SESFd) which was up 4.01% to settle at 7.32 and Iliad (PA:ILD) which gained 3.75% to close at 163.40.

The worst performers were Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (PA:PLOF) which was down 4.72% to 30.26 in late trade, Faurecia (PA:EPED) which lost 3.91% to settle at 45.44 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 3.37% to 21.77 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 347 to 242 and 81 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.71% or 12.30 to $1725.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 6.79% or 4.18 to hit $57.38 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 6.50% or 4.20 to trade at $60.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1851, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8618.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 92.350.
