Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has signed an extension to remain with the team, according to reports from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The contract will tie the seven-time Super Bowl winner to Tampa Bay through the 2022 NFL season.
Brady’s latest deal will have him playing quarterback into his mid 40s, a rarity in professional sports, especially a contact sport like football. For the 2022 season, Brady will be 45 years old, and would be the oldest starting quarterback in NFL history.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in February’s Super Bowl, winning outright as the betting underdog.
