At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.72% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 4.68% or 0.97 points to trade at 21.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) added 4.46% or 3.28 points to end at 76.78 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 3.98% or 1.16 points to 30.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 3.29% or 1.35 points to trade at 39.73 at the close. Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) declined 2.26% or 0.49 points to end at 21.39 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was down 1.99% or 0.29 points to 14.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which rose 10.92% to 10.97, Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which was up 8.35% to settle at 66.15 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 8.05% to close at 1.295.
The worst performers were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was down 6.22% to 44.50 in late trade, JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which lost 4.76% to settle at 20.00 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) which was down 3.29% to 39.73 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 340 to 252 and 80 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.68% or 0.97 to 21.68. Shares in Eurazeo (PA:EURA) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.35% or 5.10 to 66.15. Shares in CGG SA (PA:GEPH) rose to 52-week highs; rising 8.05% or 0.097 to 1.295.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.06% or 1.10 to $1722.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.13% or 1.37 to hit $65.81 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.30% or 1.56 to trade at $69.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1986, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8573.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 91.425.
