At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.28%, while the S&P 500 index fell 0.32%, and the NASDAQ Composite index lost 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were 3M Company (NYSE:MMM), which rose 1.40% or 2.46 points to trade at 179.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO) added 1.28% or 0.64 points to end at 50.77 and Honeywell International Inc (NYSE:HON) was up 1.09% or 2.21 points to 204.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT), which fell 6.05% or 8.90 points to trade at 138.30 at the close. Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) declined 2.81% or 6.05 points to end at 209.47 and Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) was down 1.56% or 2.91 points to 183.53.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were FirstEnergy Corporation (NYSE:FE) which rose 7.67% to 34.40, LKQ Corporation (NASDAQ:LKQ) which was up 5.87% to settle at 38.94 and Kraft Heinz Co (NASDAQ:KHC) which gained 5.16% to close at 38.93.
The worst performers were Albemarle Corp (NYSE:ALB) which was down 9.35% to 142.75 in late trade, TechnipFMC PLC (NYSE:FTI) which lost 9.10% to settle at 7.09 and Mosaic Co (NYSE:MOS) which was down 8.76% to 27.77 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Greenland Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:GTEC) which rose 120.00% to 16.61, HighCape Capital Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:CAPA) which was up 112.62% to settle at 22.07 and Immunome Inc (NASDAQ:IMNM) which gained 90.28% to close at 42.28.
The worst performers were Code Chain New Continent Ltd (NASDAQ:CCNC) which was down 24.95% to 7.130 in late trade, NXT-ID Inc (NASDAQ:NXTD) which lost 23.98% to settle at 2.6000 and ZW Data Action Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:CNET) which was down 25.36% to 4.620 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2127 to 963 and 72 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2212 fell and 984 advanced, while 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kraft Heinz Co (NASDAQ:KHC) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.16% or 1.91 to 38.93. Shares in Greenland Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:GTEC) rose to all time highs; up 120.00% or 9.06 to 16.61. Shares in HighCape Capital Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:CAPA) rose to all time highs; gaining 112.62% or 11.69 to 22.07. Shares in Immunome Inc (NASDAQ:IMNM) rose to all time highs; up 90.28% or 20.06 to 42.28.
The CBOE Volatility Index, which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 3.49% to 22.25.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.04% or 0.75 to $1773.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.78% or 1.09 to hit $60.05 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.85 to trade at $63.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.2091, while USD/JPY fell 0.19% to 105.64.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 90.552.
