Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.71%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.71%, while the MDAX index gained 1.21%, and the TecDAX index added 1.54%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 4.49% or 12.55 points to trade at 292.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 3.74% or 2.170 points to end at 60.190 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 3.25% or 1.105 points to 35.100 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE (DE:EONGn), which fell 0.72% or 0.063 points to trade at 8.711 at the close. Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) declined 0.74% or 0.98 points to end at 132.20 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was down 0.59% or 0.540 points to 91.380.

The top performers on the MDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which rose 5.19% to 82.100, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 4.67% to settle at 17.198 and Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which gained 4.46% to close at 85.93.

The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was down 5.61% to 5.127 in late trade, Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which lost 1.71% to settle at 34.460 and Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 1.03% to 46.345 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which rose 5.19% to 82.100, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 4.92% to settle at 24.320 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 4.67% to close at 17.198.

The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 0.65% to 228.50 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which lost 0.39% to settle at 14.812 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 0.01% to 45.095 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 404 to 256 and 41 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.91% to 23.08.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.28% or 5.15 to $1837.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.29% or 0.17 to hit $58.51 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.06 to trade at $61.41 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.2130, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.8781.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 90.398.
