YouTube has reportedly suspended Rudy Giuliani’s channel from making money off his videos, the platform said on Tuesday.
The Google GOOG, -3.52% -owned video platform suspended Giuliani’s channel for repeated violations of its election misinformation policies.
He can appeal the ruling after 30 days, according to YouTube.
Giuliani, the former Mayor of New York and more recently former President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, has been touting false information surrounding the 2020 U.S. elections since November. While the account can’t currently post new videos, the channel itself hasn’t been removed from YouTube.
There are still videos claiming Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election on Giuliani’s channel. Giuliani seemed to respond to the ruling from YouTube in a tweet.
The news comes as Giuliani is being sued for $1.3 billion by Dominion Voting Systems over his false claims about the company’s voting machines.
In the months following the presidential election many social media brands including YouTube, Facebook FB, -2.11%, Twitter TWTR, +0.04%, Snapchat SNAP, -5.01% and Shopify SHOP, -3.29% have banned former President Trump for violating platform rules.
