That’s longtime Republican strategist Steve Schmidt, explaining to MSNBC host Joy Reid how he’s come to leave the GOP and register as a Democrat. His lone issue: democracy.
“At the end of the day,” he said Tuesday, “there’s now one pro-democracy political party in the United States of America, and that’s the Democratic Party. And I am a member of that party because of that.”
