France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.31%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.31%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.35%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which rose 3.09% or 1.62 points to trade at 54.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) added 2.75% or 2.08 points to end at 77.70 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 2.28% or 6.90 points to 309.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which fell 2.35% or 13.40 points to trade at 556.30 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) declined 2.34% or 1.06 points to end at 44.17 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was down 1.78% or 0.19 points to 10.48.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which rose 5.37% to 42.36, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was up 4.06% to settle at 34.82 and Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which gained 3.53% to close at 52.80.

The worst performers were Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which was down 4.21% to 28.45 in late trade, BIC (PA:BICP) which lost 2.37% to settle at 47.80 and ALD SA (PA:ALDA) which was down 2.35% to 11.62 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 307 to 262 and 89 ended unchanged.

Shares in Aperam SA (AS:APAM) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.06% or 1.36 to 34.82. Shares in Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) rose to all time highs; rising 3.53% or 1.80 to 52.80.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 4.20% to 20.83.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.14% or 2.55 to $1857.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.13% or 0.06 to hit $47.68 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.15 to trade at $50.91 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.2175, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.9017.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 90.293.
