The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP), which rose 2.40% or 1.03 points to trade at 44.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) added 1.88% or 0.31 points to end at 16.99 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 1.85% or 0.65 points to 35.73 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which fell 3.05% or 2.36 points to trade at 75.14 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.84% or 1.14 points to end at 60.86 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was down 1.64% or 9.40 points to 564.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which rose 5.68% to 232.50, Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which was up 4.66% to settle at 143.70 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which gained 4.65% to close at 15.54.
The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 3.06% to 0.824 in late trade, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which lost 3.05% to settle at 75.14 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was down 2.55% to 18.57 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 359 to 236 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.66% or 6.40 to 143.70.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.53% to 20.38.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.79% or 14.65 to $1828.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.71% or 0.33 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.32 to trade at $49.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.2145, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.9115.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 90.703.
