France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.32%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.32%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.51%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which rose 2.00% or 5.50 points to trade at 280.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Danone SA (PA:DANO) added 1.97% or 1.04 points to end at 53.82 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 0.93% or 0.14 points to 15.44 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 3.07% or 1.94 points to trade at 61.22 at the close. Total SA (PA:TOTF) declined 2.84% or 1.07 points to end at 36.63 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was down 2.50% or 2.00 points to 77.86.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which rose 3.54% to 49.75, JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which was up 3.47% to settle at 18.51 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which gained 3.41% to close at 303.60.

The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 6.34% to 5.05 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 5.45% to settle at 0.944 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 5.42% to 29.135 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 332 to 269 and 70 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 15.00% to 21.91.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.68% or 12.20 to $1775.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.86% or 0.39 to hit $45.14 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.49 to trade at $47.76 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1964, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8961.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 91.765.
