The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 5.84% or 6.58 points to trade at 119.28 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 5.54% or 10.90 points to end at 207.80 and BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) was up 3.97% or 2.330 points to 60.990 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which fell 2.37% or 2.270 points to trade at 93.610 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) declined 2.12% or 0.735 points to end at 33.990 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) was down 2.02% or 0.830 points to 40.250.
The top performers on the MDAX were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which rose 8.69% to 31.280, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was up 6.81% to settle at 10.420 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which gained 5.19% to close at 49.42.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was down 7.45% to 44.00 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 5.93% to settle at 107.800 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 4.77% to 355.200 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 5.06% to 101.950, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 1.47% to settle at 28.093 and New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which gained 0.62% to close at 242.00.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 5.93% to 107.800 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 4.77% to settle at 355.200 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 4.23% to 110.900 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 393 to 267 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) rose to all time highs; rising 1.47% or 0.408 to 28.093.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.99% to 22.86.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.86% or 34.25 to $1803.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.76% or 2.05 to hit $45.11 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.02% or 1.85 to trade at $47.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1878, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8896.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 92.257.
