The carriers requested antitrust immunity to include Aer Lingus in the existing joint venture that includes American Airlines (O:AAL), British Airways, OpenSkies, Iberia, and Finnair (HE:FIA1S).

As a condition of approval, the department proposed carriers continue to comply with slot remedies at London airports that were imposed when the alliance was first approved in 2010.
