France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.20%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.20%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.14%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which rose 5.64% or 5.16 points to trade at 96.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 5.55% or 3.58 points to end at 68.03 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was up 3.70% or 3.50 points to 98.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which fell 3.15% or 18.10 points to trade at 556.00 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) declined 2.85% or 4.35 points to end at 148.15 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) was down 0.85% or 0.56 points to 65.20.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which rose 13.30% to 23.85, Bureau Veritas SA (PA:BVI) which was up 6.53% to settle at 20.46 and Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which gained 5.84% to close at 11.41.

The worst performers were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was down 5.96% to 5.65 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which lost 3.34% to settle at 694.80 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) which was down 3.15% to 556.00 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 327 to 233 and 93 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 6.21% to 27.09.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 2.30 to $1902.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.92% or 0.78 to hit $39.86 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.70% or 0.72 to trade at $41.74 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1843, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.9089.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 92.865.
