France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.12%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.12%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.10%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 3.46% or 0.78 points to trade at 23.14 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 2.60% or 0.31 points to end at 12.07 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was up 2.25% or 0.69 points to 31.36 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which fell 2.40% or 1.53 points to trade at 62.15 at the close. Worldline SA (PA:WLN) declined 2.35% or 1.72 points to end at 71.46 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was down 1.56% or 9.20 points to 580.00.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which rose 4.87% to 6.07, Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) which was up 4.68% to settle at 10.28 and Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which gained 3.56% to close at 5.38.

The worst performers were Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was down 3.63% to 10.88 in late trade, Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which lost 2.49% to settle at 93.94 and Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which was down 2.49% to 199.40 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 292 to 277 and 83 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 3.34% to 23.49.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.57% or 10.85 to $1905.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.42% or 0.57 to hit $40.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.32% or 0.56 to trade at $43.01 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1751, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.9027.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 93.390.
