Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.10%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.10%, while the MDAX index gained 1.68%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.45%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 4.51% or 2.02 points to trade at 46.83 at the close. Meanwhile, BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) added 2.66% or 1.380 points to end at 53.320 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 2.59% or 5.60 points to 221.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 1.29% or 0.430 points to trade at 33.005 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 1.07% or 2.95 points to end at 273.35 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) was down 0.26% or 0.350 points to 132.280.

The top performers on the MDAX were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which rose 16.88% to 37.40, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was up 14.55% to settle at 6.990 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which gained 10.67% to close at 4.293.

The worst performers were Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which was down 2.80% to 694.50 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which lost 2.45% to settle at 47.82 and Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which was down 1.81% to 78.06 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 6.53% to 18.77, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was up 4.10% to settle at 19.405 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 3.62% to close at 377.400.

The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 0.87% to 113.900 in late trade, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which lost 0.26% to settle at 132.280 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 0.19% to 77.900 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 498 to 198 and 50 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) rose to all time highs; up 3.62% or 13.200 to 377.400.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.26% to 27.62.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.67% or 12.85 to $1920.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 6.77% or 2.51 to hit $39.56 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 6.14% or 2.41 to trade at $41.68 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.1783, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.9080.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 93.498.
