Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.98%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.98%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Reliance Worldwide Corporation Ltd (ASX:RWC), which rose 10.47% or 0.40 points to trade at 4.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Zip Co Ltd (ASX:Z1P) added 6.97% or 0.43 points to end at 6.60 and Lynas Corporation Ltd (ASX:LYC) was up 5.17% or 0.120 points to 2.440 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Omni Bridgeway Ltd (ASX:OBL), which fell 3.05% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.81 at the close. Nearmap Ltd (ASX:NEA) declined 2.53% or 0.060 points to end at 2.310 and Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME) was down 2.25% or 0.61 points to 26.46.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 736 to 466 and 372 ended unchanged.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 0.76% to 21.305.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.34% or 6.35 to $1901.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.06 to hit $40.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.15 to trade at $42.45 a barrel.

AUD/USD was up 0.48% to 0.7196, while AUD/JPY rose 0.58% to 75.92.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.718.
