Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 4.37%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 4.37% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index declined 3.68%, and the TecDAX index lost 3.93%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 1.29% or 1.920 points to trade at 146.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) fell 1.43% or 1.30 points to end at 89.66 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 2.30% or 0.710 points to 30.095 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 8.76% or 0.672 points to trade at 7.000 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 7.97% or 12.30 points to end at 141.95 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was down 7.68% or 18.55 points to 223.00.

The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which rose 6.71% to 41.02, Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was up 1.16% to settle at 43.52 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 0.18% to close at 10.012.

The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 23.73% to 30.500 in late trade, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which lost 9.71% to settle at 5.224 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 9.46% to 7.788 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which rose 0.84% to 241.00, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 0.18% to settle at 10.012 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 0.71% to close at 42.23.

The worst performers were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 27.78% to 17.600 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which lost 23.73% to settle at 30.500 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 7.00% to 111.600 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 607 to 84 and 54 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 27.65% to 31.39.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.64% or 51.85 to $1910.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.96% or 2.05 to hit $39.27 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.24% or 1.83 to trade at $41.32 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.1746, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.9185.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.85% at 93.743.
