Chadwick Boseman and Barack Obama
Back in the summer of 2017, Barack Obama fired off this tweet in the wake of the Charlottesville car attack that killed activist Heather Heyer as violence broke out at a white nationalist rally.
As you can see, that tweet garnered 4.3 million likes, a record that was held until this announcement of Chadwick Boseman’s death racked up 7 million likes, which set a new mark over the weekend.
Twitter TWTR, +1.68% later confirmed that a new record had been set, tweeting that the milestone was “a tribute fit for a King.” Boseman was best known for his roles as King T’Challa in “Black Panther, as well as for playing Jackie Robinson in “42.”
Obama, joining many others, paid tribute to Boseman after his death.
