France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.26%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.20%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP), which rose 3.60% or 1.31 points to trade at 37.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 3.25% or 0.28 points to end at 8.90 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) was up 3.09% or 0.42 points to 14.15 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 1.81% or 1.02 points to trade at 55.22 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 1.30% or 1.12 points to end at 85.03 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was down 1.21% or 3.40 points to 277.20.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) which rose 3.60% to 37.80, Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was up 3.50% to settle at 10.95 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) which gained 3.25% to close at 8.90.

The worst performers were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was down 3.24% to 44.80 in late trade, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which lost 3.19% to settle at 3.59 and Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) which was down 1.88% to 10.46 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 273 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) fell to all time lows; losing 3.19% or 0.12 to 3.59.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 6.16% to 23.97.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.35% or 45.50 to $1978.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $43.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.21 to trade at $45.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.1889, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8920.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 92.390.
