France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.64%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.64%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.73%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which rose 2.66% or 1.87 points to trade at 72.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) added 2.42% or 0.72 points to end at 30.44 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) was up 2.06% or 0.52 points to 25.82 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which fell 1.97% or 0.29 points to trade at 14.64 at the close. Orange SA (PA:ORAN) declined 1.79% or 0.18 points to end at 9.66 and Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) was down 1.63% or 1.75 points to 105.55.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which rose 4.03% to 16.54, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was up 2.82% to settle at 25.87 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which gained 2.66% to close at 72.11.

The worst performers were Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which was down 12.64% to 123.70 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which lost 8.27% to settle at 668.00 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was down 3.94% to 297.20 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 340 to 219 and 94 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 5.38% to 22.58.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.40% or 27.35 to $1925.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.64% or 0.71 to hit $42.68 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.71% or 0.79 to trade at $45.37 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1796, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8948.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 93.177.
