France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.80%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.80%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.82%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 4.28% or 0.42 points to trade at 10.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Atos SE (PA:ATOS) added 3.67% or 2.64 points to end at 74.60 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was up 2.66% or 2.00 points to 77.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which fell 1.84% or 1.32 points to trade at 70.24 at the close. Orange SA (PA:ORAN) declined 1.36% or 0.14 points to end at 9.83 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was down 1.22% or 0.84 points to 67.96.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) which rose 5.04% to 16.06, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was up 4.28% to settle at 10.32 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which gained 3.67% to close at 74.60.

The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 3.59% to 0.752 in late trade, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which lost 1.94% to settle at 6.48 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which was down 1.84% to 70.24 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 317 to 230 and 101 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.50% to 21.43.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.50% or 28.90 to $1952.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $43.34 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.11 to trade at $46.18 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.00% to 1.1832, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8953.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 92.870.
