Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.04%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.04%, while the MDAX index lost 0.10%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.45%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 2.16% or 3.30 points to trade at 156.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) added 1.19% or 0.460 points to end at 39.255 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 1.08% or 2.60 points to 243.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which fell 1.36% or 0.560 points to trade at 40.580 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 1.10% or 2.84 points to end at 256.36 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 1.07% or 0.360 points to 33.205.

The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which rose 4.76% to 38.260, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 3.00% to settle at 78.320 and Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which gained 2.91% to close at 72.92.

The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which was down 5.38% to 4.871 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which lost 3.91% to settle at 43.20 and Evonik Industries AG (DE:EVKn) which was down 2.56% to 24.380 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which rose 4.13% to 264.50, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 3.00% to settle at 78.320 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which gained 2.48% to close at 169.200.

The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 2.08% to 23.500 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which lost 1.08% to settle at 105.700 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 0.97% to 24.460 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 368 to 302 and 80 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.19% or 0.460 to 39.255. Shares in Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) rose to all time highs; up 2.91% or 2.06 to 72.92.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.12% to 24.28.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.80% or 15.60 to $1923.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.81% or 0.77 to hit $43.39 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.58% or 0.72 to trade at $46.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1814, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.9000.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 93.153.
