Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.30%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.30%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Reliance Worldwide Corporation Ltd (ASX:RWC), which rose 17.77% or 0.51 points to trade at 3.38 at the close. Meanwhile, oOh!Media Ltd (ASX:OML) added 17.51% or 0.155 points to end at 1.040 and Nearmap Ltd (ASX:NEA) was up 13.01% or 0.350 points to 3.040 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were NIB Holdings (ASX:NHF), which fell 5.82% or 0.28 points to trade at 4.53 at the close. G8 Education Ltd (ASX:GEM) declined 4.64% or 0.045 points to end at 0.925 and Qantas Airways Ltd (ASX:QAN) was down 4.36% or 0.17 points to 3.73.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 718 to 570 and 349 ended unchanged.

Shares in Nearmap Ltd (ASX:NEA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 13.01% or 0.350 to 3.040.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 9.24% to 18.268.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.21% or 4.00 to $1943.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.17% or 0.07 to hit $42.41 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.07 to trade at $45.00 a barrel.

AUD/USD was up 0.22% to 0.7177, while AUD/JPY rose 0.25% to 75.91.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.140.
