Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.09%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.09%, while the MDAX index added 0.22%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.14%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which rose 1.94% or 0.760 points to trade at 39.860 at the close. Meanwhile, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) added 1.09% or 0.014 points to end at 1.298 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 0.59% or 0.130 points to 22.160 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which fell 2.09% or 0.880 points to trade at 41.125 at the close. Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) declined 1.34% or 1.52 points to end at 111.88 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 1.34% or 1.19 points to 87.34.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which rose 2.50% to 19.67, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was up 2.49% to settle at 8.640 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 2.15% to close at 45.16.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 3.52% to 94.96 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which lost 1.39% to settle at 40.330 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was down 1.33% to 38.60 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 2.69% to 10.670, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was up 2.18% to settle at 257.50 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 2.15% to close at 45.16.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 5.86% to 10.098 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which lost 1.39% to settle at 40.330 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 1.39% to 77.800 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 376 to 288 and 87 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.63% to 25.51.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 1.15 to $1947.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.03% or 0.87 to hit $41.95 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 0.85 to trade at $44.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.1777, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.9007.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 93.343.
