Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.14%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.14%, while the MDAX index declined 0.71%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.90%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which rose 2.37% or 1.38 points to trade at 59.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) added 1.67% or 0.730 points to end at 44.430 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was up 0.15% or 0.140 points to 94.540 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 4.56% or 0.061 points to trade at 1.284 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) declined 3.04% or 0.247 points to end at 7.880 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 2.59% or 2.35 points to 88.53.

The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which rose 6.89% to 25.440, Grand City Properties SA (DE:GYC) which was up 3.86% to settle at 21.52 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which gained 3.27% to close at 5.088.

The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 5.50% to 6.188 in late trade, Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which lost 5.37% to settle at 65.25 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 3.90% to 6.106 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 1.75% to 44.21, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which was up 1.34% to settle at 39.400 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which gained 0.55% to close at 92.150.

The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 10.64% to 252.00 in late trade, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which lost 4.56% to settle at 1.284 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 4.42% to 10.390 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 489 to 173 and 86 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) rose to all time highs; rising 2.37% or 1.38 to 59.60. Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 6.89% or 1.640 to 25.440.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 8.33% to 25.35.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.26% or 24.80 to $1945.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.70% or 0.30 to hit $42.81 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.50 to trade at $44.87 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1854, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8986.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 92.812.
