France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.68%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.68%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.71%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (PA:SASY), which rose 1.01% or 0.87 points to trade at 87.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) added 0.80% or 0.90 points to end at 112.85 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) was up 0.21% or 0.07 points to 34.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 5.02% or 2.05 points to trade at 38.76 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 3.09% or 2.21 points to end at 69.23 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) was down 2.91% or 0.57 points to 19.18.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which rose 3.02% to 688.00, Wendel (PA:MWDP) which was up 1.41% to settle at 86.20 and Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which gained 1.20% to close at 109.60.

The worst performers were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 5.02% to 38.76 in late trade, Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which lost 4.46% to settle at 10.72 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 3.44% to 28.600 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 345 to 191 and 110 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.51% to 23.14.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.84% or 16.70 to $2015.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.30% or 0.13 to hit $42.76 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $45.37 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.1934, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.9018.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 92.305.
