France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.61%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.61%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.51%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which rose 1.95% or 1.42 points to trade at 74.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Accor SA (PA:ACCP) added 0.96% or 0.24 points to end at 25.20 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) was up 0.90% or 1.30 points to 146.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 3.69% or 0.39 points to trade at 10.24 at the close. Renault SA (PA:RENA) declined 2.79% or 0.70 points to end at 24.58 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was down 2.21% or 0.83 points to 36.99.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which rose 3.63% to 202.50, Covivio SA (PA:CVO) which was up 3.43% to settle at 64.80 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which gained 2.84% to close at 290.00.

The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 3.69% to 10.24 in late trade, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which lost 2.89% to settle at 7.19 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) which was down 2.79% to 24.58 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 279 to 258 and 103 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) rose to all time highs; up 2.84% or 8.00 to 290.00.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.09% to 22.91.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 16.10 to $1965.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.10% or 0.47 to hit $42.20 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.14% or 0.52 to trade at $44.91 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.1818, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.9035.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.198.
