The Ford Expedition is a clear class leader in full-size SUVs for 2020. With a thorough redesign in 2018, the Ford F, +1.15% Expedition delivers everything you could possibly want in a big SUV that’s family-friendly and has trucklike capabilities. It has a roomy, premium cabin, generous standard features and a twin-turbo V6 engine with plenty of muscle. If you want to go even bigger, go for the longer Expedition Max.

The tried-and-true Chevrolet Tahoe is a great full-size SUV with a big update on the way. 2020 is the final model year for the current generation of the Tahoe, and it’s still a good buy with its muscular power from your choice of two V8 engines, a great infotainment system and the rock-solid reliability rating you’d expect from a Chevy SUV. If you like the idea of the Tahoe but want more space for passengers and cargo, then upgrade to its big brother, the Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban is the original and still one of the best full-size SUVs with two potent V8 engines, trucklike capabilities and a cavernous, family-friendly interior with plenty of cargo space. 4. 2020 GMC Yukon — $50,600

The GMC Yukon is mechanically identical to the Chevrolet Tahoe, but it comes in a more upscale package. The Yukon has all of the virtues of its Chevy relative like a choice of two strong V8 engines but can be had with a little more luxury and style via the high-end Denali trim. The GMC counterpart of the longer Chevy Suburban is the Yukon XL, which can also be had as a luxurious Denali model.

5. 2020 Nissan Armada — $47,100

The Nissan Armada isn’t quite as popular as its American rivals from Ford and GM and there are a few reasons for that. The Armada boasts a strong standard V-8 engine and a roomy, comfortable interior, but it returns poor fuel economy (even by full-size SUV standards., the cargo space is a little tight and the infotainment system is outdated. However, it has the lowest starting price in its class, making it a good value proposition. It also has a great feel on the road. It’s not the highest-rated but several of us call the Nissan NSANY, -6.53% Armada our favorite full-size SUV.

6. 2020 Toyota Sequoia — $49,980

The Toyota Sequoia got some nice updates for 2020 like a more modern infotainment system and an off-road-ready TRD Pro trim, but it still finishes at the bottom of its class. The Sequoia hasn’t received a full redesign since 2010 and it’s showing its age with outdated interior styling. The interior is roomy and comfortable, but the ride quality is harsh compared with its rivals. This Toyota TM, -1.65% has a strong standard V8, but the fuel economy is downright bad and its towing capacity is below average for its class.
