At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.99% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.67%, and the TecDAX index added 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which rose 2.57% or 4.170 points to trade at 166.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 2.51% or 0.560 points to end at 22.860 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) was up 2.38% or 3.230 points to 139.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 21.57% or 0.426 points to trade at 1.550 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 1.30% or 0.82 points to end at 62.34 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) was down 0.95% or 0.375 points to 39.005.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which rose 7.22% to 38.525, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 4.43% to settle at 343.800 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which gained 3.02% to close at 73.250.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was down 3.82% to 43.28 in late trade, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which lost 3.82% to settle at 9.5220 and Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 2.56% to 37.650 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 13.10% to 12.342, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 4.43% to settle at 343.800 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 2.96% to close at 9.750.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 21.57% to 1.550 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 0.80% to settle at 48.55 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was down 0.08% to 37.660 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 366 to 302 and 70 ended unchanged.
Shares in SAP SE (DE:SAPG) rose to all time highs; up 2.38% or 3.230 to 139.200. Shares in Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) rose to all time highs; rising 4.43% or 14.600 to 343.800. Shares in Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.02% or 2.150 to 73.250. Shares in Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 13.10% or 1.430 to 12.342. Shares in Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) rose to all time highs; rising 4.43% or 14.600 to 343.800.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.67% to 25.64 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.37% or 6.70 to $1816.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.22% or 0.09 to hit $40.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.12 to trade at $43.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1438, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.9044.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.810.
