At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.73%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.66%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 4.87% or 0.48 points to trade at 10.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 4.03% or 3.58 points to end at 92.50 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 3.67% or 2.40 points to 67.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which fell 0.60% or 0.16 points to trade at 26.65 at the close. L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) declined 0.28% or 0.80 points to end at 287.80 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was down 0.26% or 0.24 points to 93.12.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which rose 6.17% to 5.42, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was up 4.97% to settle at 25.98 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which gained 4.87% to close at 10.38.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 4.98% to 73.64 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 2.04% to settle at 32.665 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 1.45% to 0.909 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 384 to 184 and 92 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.71% to 28.38.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.64% or 11.50 to $1813.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $40.54 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.04 to trade at $43.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.1367, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.9012.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 96.257.
