El Pollo Loco, which is known for its chicken, has reformulated a plant-based chicken alternative for vegans and anyone else seeking plant-based food.
Shares have more than doubled since hitting a 2020 low in March. The stock has three buy ratings and an average price target of $14, according to data compiled by Investing.com.
The Chickenless Pollo taco (or burrito) is available at all 485 El Pollo Loco locations. To keep things truly vegan, the cheese and creamy cilantro dressing are absent.
The new plant-based chicken is certified by the American Vegetarian Association.
